Professorship is in the area of HVAC technology with focus on indoor climate, high performing
building services and as well as energy efficiency in buildings. Current research projects are
focused on energy efficiency of building and community, utilization of digitalization & IoT and
indoor climate. Earlier 20 years experience in industry of business development, research and
development of HVAC- systems and services. Author of over 320 international publications.
Nine European patents (EPO) of indoor climate and energy systems. He has been reviewer of
H2020 European projects, evaluator of EU Structural Fund on Industry Driven Research,
Swedish Research Council (FORMAS) and Estonian Archimedes. Prof. Kosonen has been a
keynote speaker in international conferences e.g. in China and Romania and he was President of
ROOMVENTILATION Conference 2018.
Prof. Kosonen is Distinguished Professor at Nanjing tech University. He is president of
SCANVAC and vice-president of Finnish HVAC associations. He is also Chair of Indoor
Climate Association in Finland. Board and committee membership of e.g. IBPSA Nordic and
REHVA organizations. Awards, prizes and honours: REHVA Professional Award of
Technology, Rydberg Gold Medal that is Scanvac’s highest distinction on research of indoor air
quality, air distribution and ventilation and REHVA Fellow. He has got of awards of papers:
Best Paper Award 2016 in Building and Environment Journal and Best paper Awards in
ventilation 2015 conference, Roomventilation 2018 and Cold Climate HVAC & Energy 2021.
Elsa Edith Yanez is a BsC. In Electric and Electronics Engineering, graduated with honors from La Salle
University in Mexico City. She also holds a Global MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management,
in a joint degree with ITESM.
She currently works as Manager - Latin America for Belimo Americas, a Swiss manufacturer and trend
designer for final control elements for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (actuators, valves and sensors).
She has worked for leading companies in the building technology industry her entire life, such as:
Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and Siebe Environmental Controls.
Honorary Activity:
Representative of Mexico (AMERIC) at FAIAR (Federation of Ibero-American Associations of Air
Conditioning and Refrigeration). Member of the FAIAR Indoor Air Quality Council, whose first
achievement is the first standard on IAQ at the Latin American level.
Member of ONNCCE working group on Indoor Environmental Quality (Mexico’s standard entity) where a
the draft of a standard on IAQ will be soon published for public consultation.
Actively participates at IMEI-BOMA Mexico, where she is current president and where she leads efforts
to unite more associations within the Cities, Infrastructure and Buildings Industries in Mexico.

Since 1990 has been involved in the Portuguese Commission for the Building Regulation and in
the last years has been one of the main responsible for the set-up of the New Building
Regulations and Certification on Buildings in Portugal.
Has been President of the Portuguese Energy Agency (ADENE); President of the Portuguese
Solar Energy Society (SPES) and Head of Renewable Energy Department of INETI (National
Institute of Engineering and Industrial Technology). Is member of the Portuguese section of
ISES since 1980 and President from 1996 to 2000.
Ilinca Nastase is Associate Professor at the Building Services Faculty, Technical University of Civil
Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB), CAMBI research center. She is the director of the Doctoral School of
UTCB. She is also co-chair of the Technology and Research Committee of the Federation of European
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning associations, REHVA. Her research interests are related to
indoor environment quality and thermal comfort in particular, air distribution and ventilation
applications, experimental fluid mechanics, optical methods, PIV, DIC, LDV, flow visualization.
Ahmet ARISOY graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Mechanical Engineering
Department at 1972. He received PhD from same university at 1979 and he attended as full professor
to the ITU Mechanical Engineering Department at 1992. He retired at 2017. He studied as visiting
scholar at University of Michigan (USA) between 1980- 1982. He has worked mainly on the
combustion and the HVAC area. He has conducted around 40 research and technology projects and
involved many product R&D projects. He is member of 8 associations and received 3 honorary service
grand. He has around 200 publications of different kinds.
Zoltan Magyar is an associate professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics,
Hungary.
He is an HVAC engineer, he has a PhD from indoor climate.
He is the manager director and owner in Comfort Consulting Ltd. SME.
He is involved in several H2020 projects.
He was one of the vice presidents of REHVA for 9 years.
